Steps to Bleach Hair at Home

1.) Start with Healthy Hair to Bleach

If you frequently bleach your hair then always remember to keep a proper gap so that you don’t end up damaging your hair. For pre-dyed hair, you should use herbal shampoo and conditioner. Avoid products containing chemicals like sulfates. Avoid heating tools so that you can prepare your hair for the next round of bleaching. There should be a minimum gap of three months in between the days you bleach your hair.

2.) Go for the Best Bleaching Products

Hair bleaching products are available in the local beauty stores but do remember to get the right product for your hair. Before purchasing the products decide over which shade you would want to bleach your hair. Use the products according to the requirement. For blonde or light brown hair you need to get 20-30 volume developer, for black hair, the amount is more 40 volume developer. But remember the lower the volume the lesser damage to your hair. For girls who want to get a platinum color will need a toner. This will take the yellow color out of the bleached hair. For bleached hair, there are shampoos specifically for bleached hair. Do not use metallic bowls or plates for bleaching purpose always use plastic.

9.) Tone Your Hair For Platinum Blonde Hair

For the toning process, you need to mix a part of toner and two-part of the developer. Add red-gold corrector according to the instruction. Mix them well, the mixture will appear blueish in color.

10.) Apply Toner To Bleach Hair

For platinum blonde hair you should use a clean tint brush to apply the paste on your hair. If you have hot roots pay attention to it. Avoid the roots this will save your hair from further damage.

11.) Allow the Toner to Set on Your Hair

The toning product will have instructions mentioned. Go through it and determine the time required for you to bleach hair. Various products have different timings mentioned. Usually, it is 30 minutes.

12.) Shampoo and Condition Your Hair 

After the toning process is over wash your hair properly under running water. Use a shampoo recommended for bleached hair to make sure you get rid of the toner. Later use a deep conditioner to moisturize your hair. Do not use blow dryers rather let it towel dry.
